When I was 12 years young I walked into buffalo records in Cardiff and in amongst the many thousands of LP's on the shelves one jumped out at me ..I went to the sales counter Kiss Alive In hand and it totally changed my life ..it was everything I was looking for, answered all my life questions ...I was hooked and I'm still listening today!!

My first venture into the raucous world of Heavy Metal was when I was still in school. The band was called Neon Spirit and I played guitar and shared lead vocal... we only did a handful of gigs (one in the grounds of the Resurrection church, Ely Cardiff) and we released a single financed by the Princes Trust ...that was enough to make me want more ..I then joined Rankelson playing bass and it really kickstarted everything for me...we made 2 albums and had a riot..this was when I was truly at my happiest, playing Heavy Metal with friends ..it was just as i’d always imagined it to be ..we were the bastards of rock n roll... a gang, a unit, it was us against the world ..it was also at this time that I realised how rewarding being in a Heavy Metal band could be ..The rock scene in Cardiff was on fire back then and Rankelson guitarist The F.O.X and myself started hanging out with a guy who would become Pepsi Tate..then one night at Bogiez rock club in Cardiff Pepsi whispered in my ear, “come and join my band, Tigertailz”...I did join Tigertailz and the rest as they say...

But I guess that’s why you’re here reading this, right? ..Tigertailz helped me realise my dream, been there, done it, and somewhere in the dark recesses of my wardrobe I still have the tee-shirt...
Heavy Metal is my life, always has and always will be ..I owe it a great debt and now it's time to pay up.. I've been very lucky in life and it's been a privilege to have seen the things I've seen..I've met my heroes (and it was great) and I've lived their dream but I felt I've never really given a true account of myself, never said the things I wanted to say through the music ..this is me laid bare...my story so far along with 3 friends I've known and respected as people and musicians for most of my life ...together we are the Bare Knuckle Messiahs and like the name says we want our music to knock you flat on your arse ...

In truth the album has been finished for a few years now but we wanted to live with it for a while and see if it still walked tall with the passing of time. Many people, myself included have released stuff, then on listening back a few years later wish they had done things differently ..I can tell you that's not the case with us ..it's already stood the test by its ultimate critics ..we're not in the business of releasing rubbish just for the cash grab. Ultimately, all that really matters is the music you leave behind you ..how could we ask you to believe in us if we don't believe in ourselves?...

We are the Bare Knuckle Messiahs. Join us, spread the word, together we can do this.

Let's get Metal!!
